Unplanted Seeds will be a feature-length documentary examining America’s teacher shortage crisis from the perspective of America’s teachers. The film will spend a year embedded with four local public school teachers, and through their stories, paint an authentic picture of what drives teachers to educate the next generation, and what’s causing them to leave the profession in record numbers. As the months progress, we witness the ways in which these four manage to make an impact on their students everyday, with wins big and small. At the same time, we uncover the extent to which the shortage has disrupted the lives of teachers, and ultimately, the functions of our education system: empty classrooms leaving students ill-prepared tor their futures, and teachers on the constant brink of burnout.
